 The Role of Nutrition in the growth and development of human body

Nutrition is the process of providing  the  food neccesary for health and growth. Nutrition is the intake of food, considered in relation to the body 's dietary needs. Poor Nutrition can lead to reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development, and reduced productivity.

Why Nutrition is important ?

The food habits of people have changed drastically in a short time and this has had a big impact on our health. What we eat helps us to grow and develop properly ,and stay helathy and strong. Food plays an important part in helathy pregnancy,promoting healthy babies and children that grow to their best mental,physical,social and emotional potential. 

Food plays an important role in preventing and treating conditions affecting people such as diabetes, heart disease, hyperactivity and obesity. Our food choices take place in a social,cultural,political and economic enviroment that can aggravate the health promoting one. Nutrition also focuses on how diseases, conditions and problems can be prevented or lessened with a healthy diet. In addition, nutrition involves identifying how certain diseases, conditions or problems may be caused by dietary factors, such as poor diet (malnutrition), food allergies, metabolic diseases, etc.

The Human Body requires seven major types of nutrients

A nutrient is a source of nourishment and an ingredient of foods, such as protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamin, mineral, fiber and water. Macronutrients (protein ,carb, fat ) are nutrients we need in relatively large quantities . Micronutrienys are nutrients we need in relatively small quantities.
